Iran Says Few Key Issues Prevented Deal with US
Tehran: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baqai has said that the United States and Iran had reached an agreement on some issues, but a deal could not be reached due to two or three important issues.
A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that this round of talks between Iran and the United States was the longest in a year, lasting 24 or 25 hours.
He said that both sides had reached an agreement on some issues, but a deal could not be reached due to two or three important issues, while there were differences of opinion on other matters.
Ismail Baqai said that diplomacy never ends; it is a means of protecting national interests. It should not have been expected that we would reach an agreement in one sitting; I think no one expected that.
The spokesperson said that Pakistan will remain in touch with other friends in the Iran region. I thank the government, people, and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif of Pakistan.
