Iran rejects talks under US pressure, warns of new battlefield moves

21 April, 2026 19:08

Iranian officials have strongly criticized US pressure and said that negotiations cannot continue under threats.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that US pressure and threats are creating serious obstacles in talks. He clearly stated that Iran will not accept negotiations “under the shadow of threats.”

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf also took a firm stance. He said Iran will not accept any kind of pressure or intimidation during negotiations.

Qalibaf accused US President Donald Trump of trying to turn the negotiation table into a “surrender table.” He also said that Trump violated agreements by imposing a blockade.

He further warned that Iran could look at new options if talks with the US fail. According to him, Iran is also prepared to take new steps on the ground within the next two weeks if needed.

Iranian leaders have made it clear that they are open to talks, but only on equal terms without pressure or threats.

Overall, Iran has repeated its position that dialogue is possible, but it will not accept any form of coercion during negotiations.
