Pakistani Cadet Named “Best Foreign Military Cadet” at Australia’s Royal Military College Duntroon
The Australian Royal Military College (RMC) Duntroon has awarded Pakistani Army Cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas of PMA 152 Long Course the title of “Overall Best Foreign Military Cadet” during the passing out parade held in Canberra on 5 May 2026.
The prestigious award is given to the highest-performing foreign cadet across all training disciplines, reflecting exceptional professionalism, discipline, and leadership qualities demonstrated throughout the course.
The commissioning parade was reviewed by Australian Chief of Army Lieutenant General Simon Stuart, AO DSC. The ceremony was attended by diplomatic representatives, including the Pakistani High Commissioner in Canberra, families of graduating cadets, and senior officials of the Australian Defence Force.
Pakistan and Australia maintain a long-standing and strong military partnership. Since 2013, seven Pakistani Army officers have served as platoon commanders at RMC Duntroon, while 46 Pakistani cadets have graduated from the institution since 2009.
This achievement marks the 14th time a Pakistani cadet has received the honor of Overall Best Foreign Military Cadet. Notably, Lieutenant Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria Shaheed, Tamgha-e-Basalat, also previously earned this distinction before embracing martyrdom on 4 September 2020 in North Waziristan.
His name is inscribed on the memorial stone at the RMC parade ground, symbolizing courage, sacrifice, and the enduring legacy of Pakistani military officers.
