Jon Gosselin Cheated on Kate With Kids’ Nanny in Hot Tub, Claims Stephanie Santoro

The long-running drama surrounding the Gosselin family has returned to the headlines in full force, as Collin Gosselin prepares to release his highly anticipated memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood. The book has reopened old wounds — including mutual infidelity allegations between his parents, Jon and Kate Gosselin — that have kept tabloids buzzing for well over a decade.

The Nanny’s Claims: What Stephanie Santoro Alleged in 2009

In September 2009, a former Gosselin family babysitter named Stephanie Santoro — then a 23-year-old single mother and ex-waitress — came forward with explosive claims during an interview with Touch Weekly. Santoro alleged that Jon Gosselin had been physically intimate with her within just a month of her starting work for the family. At the time, Jon and Kate were separated but had not yet finalised their divorce.

According to Santoro, the affair began when Jon requested a massage, following which he allegedly made romantic advances and asked if they could “kiss just once.” She described Jon as “very romantic” during the alleged encounter and recalled him warning her with the words:

Santoro further alleged that the two ended up together in the family’s hot tub, though she admitted feeling uneasy, worried that “one of the kids was going to pop their heads out.” Jon reportedly went inside to check on the children and, once confirmed they were asleep, allegedly took Santoro to an apartment above the garage and “continued what was going on in the hot tub,” after which, per her account, Jon “fell asleep afterward.” This was reportedly not an isolated incident, as Jon had been linked to multiple women during his marriage to Kate.

Collin also used the podcast appearance to speak about what he describes as years of “abuse” and “difficult experiences” within the family — including allegations that Kate kept him isolated, subjected him to mistreatment, and falsely portrayed him as having mental health issues. He shared that he had kept knowledge of the alleged infidelity to himself for years and that it was now time for the world to know how deeply his mother’s actions had affected him.

Kate Gosselin, for her part, hit back at Collin’s abuse allegations in late June 2026, denying his claims. The family conflict shows no signs of cooling, with Collin’s memoir expected to escalate tensions further upon its release.
