US Launches Major Crackdown on Indian Criminal Networks

According to The Hindu, Indian national Nitish Kaushal, who is accused of serious crimes, has been arrested by US authorities.
The report said the suspect worked for the Bhagwanpuria gang, which is involved in several criminal activities. He was arrested during an FBI operation.
FBI Assistant Director Patrick Gandy said Indian criminal groups have relied on corrupt officials to run extortion networks.
According to The Hindu, the criminal gang, which started in India’s Punjab state, has expanded its operations into California.
The report also said US security agencies are continuing Operation Hardball against Indian criminal groups.
Indian journalist Navya Bal said the Modi government’s failure to control these groups has allowed them to expand beyond India’s borders and become a threat internationally.
The recent arrests in the United States have renewed attention on criminal networks linked to Indian nationals and ongoing law enforcement efforts against them.
