Pakistan, Mauritius Explore Cooperation in Digital Media

ISLAMABAD, July 22: Pakistan and Mauritius have agreed to explore greater cooperation in the field of digital media, with a focus on knowledge sharing, innovation and strengthening bilateral engagement in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The understanding emerged during a meeting between the High Commissioner of Mauritius to Pakistan, Munsoo Kurrimbaccus, and the Minister of State and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Digital Media, Fahd Haroon, held at the minister’s office in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Deputy Head of Mission at the High Commission of Mauritius, R.A.L. Sewtohul, also attended the meeting.

During the discussions, both sides reviewed the rapidly changing digital media environment, highlighting the opportunities and challenges presented by the expanding digital ecosystem. They exchanged views on the role of digital media platforms in communication and public engagement, as well as issues of mutual interest related to the sector.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss recent developments in the digital media industries of Pakistan and Mauritius. The two sides shared experiences and best practices while exploring avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation in digital media communication, capacity building and institutional engagement.

Emphasizing the growing importance of digital transformation, both delegations underscored the need to strengthen collaboration in emerging digital media sectors. They expressed a shared commitment to promoting innovation, facilitating knowledge exchange and developing mutually beneficial partnerships.

The meeting reflected the warm and longstanding relations between Pakistan and Mauritius and reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to further deepen bilateral understanding and cooperation in the field of digital media.
