Yemen’s Armed Forces Strike Saudi Landing Ship, Escort Boats in Red Sea

Yemen’s armed forces have carried out a missile strike against a Saudi landing ship and several escort boats in the Red Sea, describing the operation as retaliation for Saudi Arabia’s ongoing military campaign and blockade. Armed forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said on Monday that the attack was conducted off the coast of the Port of Mokha using a number of ballistic missiles and that the operation successfully achieved its objectives.

According to Saree, the strike directly hit the Saudi landing ship, resulting in its complete destruction, while several other vessels were sunk and the remaining boats caught fire. He said Yemeni forces were closely monitoring Saudi military movements and buildups both on land and at sea, warning that such deployments would remain targets under what he described as a “siege for siege” policy.

Separately, Yemeni forces also targeted an arms depot belonging to Saudi-backed forces at the Sahn al-Jin military camp in Yemen’s southwestern Ma’rib province. Saree said the strike accurately hit the facility and triggered a massive blaze, adding that Yemeni forces would continue monitoring and responding to Saudi military activities.
