Qalibaf Warns US of ‘Faster, Heavier and More Painful’ Response

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has warned the United States that any further aggression against Iran will be met with a “faster, heavier, and more painful” response. Speaking during a parliamentary session on Sunday, Qalibaf said the era of “proportionate responses” was over, stressing that Iran’s recent strikes against the aggressor’s bases were only the beginning. He said Washington must understand that the “rules of the game have changed” and that any threat to Iran’s interests or security would face a stronger response.

Qalibaf said Iran’s military strategy had shifted beyond a primarily defensive posture, pointing to recent operations that Iranian officials describe as preemptive actions against perceived preparations for further attacks. His remarks came as the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy announced strikes against three US-linked vessels and three oil tankers in retaliation for what Tehran describes as American attacks on Iranian ships. Qalibaf also expressed confidence that Iran would withstand the economic war through national resilience, while accusing Washington of resorting to rhetoric and artificially generated battlefield imagery after suffering setbacks.

The parliament speaker said the economic front was now one of the most important arenas of confrontation, calling for measures to address currency volatility, inflation and unemployment through domestic production and the technological capabilities of young Iranian experts. He urged smarter import management and efforts to strengthen supply chains and energy security in the face of sanctions. Qalibaf emphasized that maintaining internal cohesion and strengthening external deterrence were essential to confronting the adversary and safeguarding Iran’s national interests.
