Ishaq Dar, South Korean Foreign Minister Discuss Trade and Investment at UNGA

NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

The two foreign ministers reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and the Republic of Korea, particularly in trade, investment and economic relations.

Ishaq Dar emphasised the importance of greater business-to-business engagement to unlock new opportunities and further expand economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the South Korean foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional issues.

The two sides also discussed the importance of multilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to working together at the United Nations and other multilateral forums on issues of mutual interest.

The meeting reflected the two countries’ continued efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in economic and diplomatic spheres.
