General Conference of Parliamentary Assembly of ECO begins in Islamabad today.

Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO)’s Parliamentary Assembly’s conference will conclude tomorrow.

General Conference of Parliamentary Assembly of ECO begins

Speakers and Parliamentarians from member countries of the ECO are attending the event.

The countries include, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.

Pakistan’s National Assembly of Pakistan is hosting the conference.

The Conference will discuss an array of topics revolving around its theme “Promoting Parliamentary Partnership for Regional Integration.”

Moreover, the participants will also hold bilateral meetings.

They will discuss the prospects of enhancing cooperation at governmental and parliamentary levels.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr Arif Alvi may attend the opening or closing ceremonies.

According to reports, the conference would also include meetings of women parliamentarians.

Furthermore, it would include breakout sessions and panel discussions for two days.

Originally, Pakistan, Iran and Turkey are the senior most members of the ECO.

Because, they had co-founded RCD and updated that with expansion as ECO.
