Lahore -Former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday postponed his meeting with Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) head Siraj ul Haq, which had been decided earlier to discuss the no-trust move against the government.

The meeting is scheduled for 7.30pm at JI headquarters in Mansoura, Lahore. Zardari is expected to visit leaders with other party leaders including Raja Pervaiz Ashraf to seek the JI’s cooperation in supporting the opposition’s no-confidence motion in the government. “7:30 was agreed to be the meeting time at JI headquarters.
But later in the day, we were informed that Zardari had been transferred to the hospital with severe back pain and was being examined,” the secretary’s message said. Siraj called Asif Ali Zardari late on Sunday night to inquire about his health and wish him good health. Qaiser added that the latter was grateful for the concerns expressed by Siraj.
“The two leaders agreed to meet later. According to information passed to us, a five-member delegation included former prime ministers Raja Pervez Ashraf and Yusuf Raza Gilani .”
Asked if JI would expand support for the PPP Long March at their official request, Qaiser said: “Both PPP and PDM announced their own Long March, while JI announced plans for a nationwide march”.
