Hamas warns Israel about consequences of closing Gaza fishing zone.

The Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas reacted furiously Monday to Israel’s full closure of the Gaza fishing zone.

It said it would not accept the restrictions and that the policy would have serious repercussions.

According to the Israeli media, Hamas said Israel will bear the consequences.

The Gaza-based movement rejected closure of the Gaza Strip to fishermen as a blatant violation of their rights.

Furthermore, it said it constitutes a form of ongoing aggression against our people (Palestinians).

It also vowed that Israel’s aggressive policy toward the Palestinian people will not break its steadfast spirit or weaken its fist or limit its determination.

Moreover, it said they would not accept restrictive measures and pressure on the Palestinian people.

Hamas further warned that Israel will bear the consequences of its aggressive behavior.

For Palestinians in Gaza. fishing remains a significant source of revenue.

But Israel continues to impose its order in Palestinian sea raising and lowering the limit.

However, Israel claims to do so in a bid to pressure Hamas, the de facto ruler of the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar cited Hamas sources Monday as saying that mediators from Egypt and the United Nations had been told Hamas opposes a truce with Israel for as long as Israeli policy against the Palestinians continued in occupied al Quds.

And that the potential cancellation of the May 22 Palestinian Authority elections would lead to an escalation of violence in occupied Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza.

The Palestinians may delay their first national elections in 15 years due to Israel barring occupied al-Quds Palestinians from voting where they reside.

Palestinians and the entire Muslim world and Arab Muslims recognize al-Quds (Jerusalem) the capital of a Palestine.
