ISLAMABAD: Former foreign minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said the PML-N led coalition government is trying to divert attention from audio leaks with missing Cypher claims.

While talking to a private TV channel  PTI leader, Shah Mahmood Qureshi has claimed, that the federal government is responsible for releasing the audio of Imran Khan as the intent of administration is to divert the attention from its audio leaks and Prime Minister’s Office’s security breakdown.”

Former foreign minister also expressed concern over the disappearance of confidential documents from the PMO. If the sensitive document—a diplomatic cable or cypher—went missing from PMO, there has been a serious security breach. He further added, that Imran Khan has not been bothered by the audio leaks. “We love Pakistan, and there is nothing to be concerned about. When it comes to the interests of the country, it is our responsibility to defend our motherland.

Meanwhile, former interior minister and PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry shared his opinion on alleged audio leak and insisted that the main purpose of Imran Khan’s audio leaks was to distract attention from the acquittal of Maryam Nawaz and her husband Captain Safdar in the Avenfield reference.

On his twitter, Fawad said they took precautions of not naming the country mentioned in the diplomatic cable initially, but it became inevitable after the cabinet allowed to declassify it.

He wrote on his Twitter: “We took whatever caution was possible in diplomatic matters.

The name of the country [US] was not revealed until the cabinet declassified the cipher. The name, however, had to come to light when the cipher had been declassified.”
