Iran’s Raisi returns home after Pakistan visit

24 April, 2024 08:50

Iranian President Dr. Ibrahim Raisi has returned home along with his delegation after completing a three-day visit to Pakistan.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah bid farewell to the distinguished guest at the airport.

During the visit, the Iranian president met with the president, prime minister, Army Chief, Senate chairman, National Assembly Speaker, chief ministers and governors of Sindh and Punjab.

Both the brotherly countries agreed to increase the bilateral trade volume to $10 billion.

Earlier, the Iranian president remarked while addressing a ceremony at the Sindh CM’s House that no power in the world can disrupt bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran. He said the bilateral ties between the two states are interconnected via history, culture and religion.

The Iranian president said that Palestinians will emerge successful in the war with Israel and Pakistan’s position against the Zionist forces is commendable.

The Palestinians will emerge as victorious, says Raisi during his visit to the Tomb of Iqbal in Lahore.

He said that Israelis who oppress Palestinians will suffer defeat.

Allama Iqbal showed a new way to the Muslim Ummah, the president said.

He added that Iqbal’s poetry can play the role of a bridge in Iran-Pakistan relations. Pakistan and Iran have strong fraternal ties, he continued. The relationship between the two countries will grow stronger with time, he hoped.

It feels like I am at home during this visit to Pakistan, said Raisi.
