Over Two Lac illegal immigrants return to Afghanistan

The deportations of foreigners mostly Afghans living illegaly continued to their home countries as over 200,000 Afghan immigrants have returned till November 09.

The Pakistani government has ordered “illegal/unregistered foreigners” and those “overstaying their visa validity periods” to return to their countries of origin by November 1.

Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, when announcing the deadline in early October, said that an estimated 1.7 million Afghans are among those facing forcible return.

Pakistan relaxing visa conditions of Afghans nationals

Pakistan on Wednesday decided to extend the stay of registered Afghan refugees in the country for six months.

Pakistan to extend the stay of POR (Proof of Registration) card-holder Afghan refugees on the recommendation of the foreign office and interior ministry.

The tenure that expired on June 30, 2023, now stands enforced until December 31. The decision will benefit registered Afghans and their families.

Islamic Republic of Iran deported over 300 000 Afghan in 2023

France24 published a story that an Afghan official claiming that Iran is also returning or deporting Afghan nationals.

Iran is sending back 1,500-2,000 Afghan nationals per day to 3,000-4,500 Afghan nationals into motherland Afghanistan.

Iran’s official IRNA news agency quoted a police official this month as saying more than 15,000 “illegal” Afghan citizens had returned over just four days, and some 328,000 were deported this year.
