Security Forces Kill 49 Militants in KP, Balochistan IBOs
Security forces and police have killed 49 militants in several intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan over the past few days.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were carried out to target militant networks and prevent attempts to disturb peace and stability in the country.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces and police conducted operations in Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai and Khyber districts. The operations resulted in the deaths of 12 militants belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij, according to ISPR.
A large quantity of explosives, IED detonating remotes, weapons, ammunition and motorcycles were also recovered from the militants’ hideouts. The recovered explosives, weapons and other equipment were later destroyed by security forces.
In Balochistan, security forces conducted 10 intelligence-based operations in different districts. ISPR said 37 militants belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan were killed during the operations.
The operations targeted militant positions in Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar and Panjgur. Weapons, explosive drums and remote detonation devices were also recovered during the operations.
ISPR said the operations dealt a major blow to militant networks and prevented attempts to undermine peace and stability in the country.
Clearance operations are continuing in the affected areas to locate and eliminate other militants, according to the military’s media wing.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue operations against terrorism under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative, ISPR said.
