Prime Minister Imran Khan directs early completion of electoral reforms.

He issued these directives, while chairing a meeting on use of electronic voting machines in electoral process in Islamabad today (Thursday).

The PM reiterated his commitment to ensure transparency in the electoral process using EVM.

He further said government also remain committed in fulfilling all constitutional requirements to ensuring transparency in the general elections in the country.

He underlined use of EVM as the only option to prevent rigging and ensure transparency in the election process.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister had a detailed briefing on the progress made so far about use of electronic voting machine and legislation regarding electoral reforms.

On the other hand, he also addressed the inauguration of Eagle Squad in Islamabad.

He underscored effective policing system inevitable for country’s prosperity because peace and rule of law are prerequisite for luring investment and wealth creation.

Furthermore, he urged the police to bring sacred cows and powerful law violator under the law.

He also directed them to deal the poor with politeness to build a vibrant and progressive society.

The Eagle Squad comprises 100 well equipped patrol bikes for strict vigilance against street crimes across the city while being in constant connectivity with Islamabad Safe City headquarter.

The bike patrol will be equipped with LTE sets and could be GIS mapped and GPS based positioned.

The project also consists training of 500 police personnel.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed also spoke.

He said the Eagle Squad will replace the police check posts which cause traffic mess for the commuters.
