Punjab Assembly sealed with barbed wires amid confusion over session for CM’s election

06 April, 2022 18:20

Lahore-The Punjab Assembly was sealed on Wednesday, with acerbic cables installed atop its boundary walls and the structure’s main gate locked, amid confusion over the scheduling of a pivotal session for the election of the fiefdom’s new chief minister.

A large contingent of police has been stationed outside the assembly, with help carrying bludgeons and securities. Water cannons and Deliverance 1122 vehicles have also been situated outside the assembly’s structure.
The development coincides with the submission of a no-confidence stir against Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari, after he said the session for the chief minister’s election would take place moment at 730 pm, but a prophet for the parochial assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) denied the development.
Replying to the sealing of the parochial assembly, PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari reprobated that the deputy speaker had been”locked out” of the assembly on the day of voting for the chief minister’s election.
The PPP chief said in a tweet”If it takes 30 seconds to pull off an achievement, it should take 30 seconds to undo an achievement. Justice delayed is justice denied. After last week’s indigenous breakdown in Islamabad, moment Punjab deputy speaker was locked out of (the) assembly on (the) day of voting for CM. Barbered (sic) line around people’s house.”

Meanwhile, PML-NVice-President Maryam Nawaz blazoned that she’d be reaching the Punjab Assembly at 7 pm moment to support Hamza Shehbaz, who’s the opposition party’s seeker for the chief minister.

“To stand with Hamza who easily has the maturity, I’ll be going to (the) Punjab Assembly ijlaas (session) at 7 (pm) Insha’Allah,” she twittered.
