Sindh govt Task Force on Coronavirus decides capacity enhancement to deal with current situation. 

The provincial government decided to purchase necessary equipment and machines to enhance the laboratories’ testing capacity in the province.

It made this decision at the meeting of Task Force on Coronavirus in Karachi.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over the meeting.

The Chief Minister approved purchase of 290 ventilators, 3.2 million Personal Protective Equipment and 100 Rapid Kit Antigen Test Machines.

He also approved purchase of 100,000 testing kits, 50 RT Lamp Testing Machines, 10,000 RT Lamp Kits and 29 portable X-ray machines.

Officials concerned informed the meeting that so far 3718 corona tests have been conducted in the province.

Out of which 3304 were declared negative and 413 as positive while 485 results are pending.

Pakistan confirms 1022 cases

The total confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in the country have risen to 1022.
According to latest statistics, these included  413 in Sindh and 310 in Punjab.
Coronavirus has infected 117 in Balochistan, 81 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 80 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
At least 20 Coronavirus confirmed cases reported in  Islamabad and one in Azad Kashmir.
Besides, twenty-one patients have recovered so far while eight died from the virus.
Five patients are in critical condition.

 

Meanwhile, National Coordination Committee on coronavirus will hold its second meeting in Islamabad today on Thursday.
