T20I: Rizwan may miss remaining games against NZ

24 April, 2024 11:15

Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Muhammad Rizwan’s participation in the remaining matches of the series against New Zealand is doubtful due to his leg injury.

Preparations for the fourth T20 match between Pakistan and New Zealand are going on.

In this connection, a training session of Pakistan and New Zealand teams is being held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

It should be noted that in the third match, Mohammad Rizwan was retired due to a leg injury while batting.

Earlier, Mohammad Rizwan had achieved a significant milestone during the second T20I against New Zealand in Rawalpindi.

Rizwan, in his 79th T20I inning, became the fastest batter to score 3000 runs in T20I games, surpassing the record held jointly by Babar Azam and Virat Kohli. Both Babar and Kohli reached the milestone in 81 innings.

Also, Mohammad Rizwan becomes the second Pakistani, after Babar, to score 3,000 runs in T20I cricket.

Chasing a target of 91 runs against Black Caps, Rizwan played an unbeaten 45-run knock from 34 balls.
