Abbas Araghchi warns US against military adventurism
Abbas Araghchi has warned the United States against carrying out any new military action and strongly criticized reported American activities in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement shared on social media on Friday, the Iranian foreign minister said the US often turns to military actions whenever there is a chance for diplomacy and peaceful talks.
Araghchi questioned whether the recent American actions were meant to increase pressure on Iran or to push the US president into another conflict. He said that whatever the reason may be, the Iranian people would never surrender to pressure.
Responding to reports in US media about Iran’s missile stockpiles, Araghchi rejected claims that Iran’s military strength had weakened.
He said Iran’s missile reserves had not dropped to 75 percent, as some reports claimed, but had instead increased to 120 percent compared to February 28.
The Iranian foreign minister also said Iran’s readiness to protect its people remained “1,000 percent.”
His statement comes at a time of rising tensions in the region and ongoing diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States.
