Israel Drone Strike on Gaza Funeral Gathering Leaves 14 Palestinians Martyred

At least 14 Palestinians have been martyred in Israeli attacks across different areas of the Gaza Strip, with more than half of the casualties reported from a drone strike targeting people gathered for a funeral procession.

According to reports by a Qatari media outlet, Israel has continued carrying out attacks in Gaza despite the passage of months since the announced ceasefire with Hamas, with repeated violations reported.

In central Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp, an Israeli strike hit a civilian gathering in the Balata Market area, killing 8 Palestinians, according to Gaza’s Civil Defense Agency and a local hospital.

Al-Awda Hospital said that at least 20 people were also injured in the attack.

Eyewitnesses said the drone strike took place as mourners had gathered outside Ahmed Yassin Mosque while waiting for a funeral procession for a Palestinian who had been killed in an earlier attack in the same area.

The latest attack has drawn renewed criticism over civilian casualties and the continued targeting of densely populated areas in Gaza.
