Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei Hails National Unity, Warns US Against Further Escalation

Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has praised the massive public participation in the funeral ceremonies for what he described as the “Martyr of Iran,” saying the gatherings across Tehran, Qom, Mashhad and other cities demonstrated the Iranian nation’s loyalty, political awareness and commitment to its Islamic-Iranian identity. In a message marking the conclusion of the week-long ceremonies, he thanked millions of participants, senior clerics, scholars, intellectuals, cultural and political figures, civilian and military institutions, and representatives of the Resistance Front for attending the events.

Addressing relations with the United States, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said Washington’s alleged violation of an agreement signed between the presidents of Iran and the United States showed that American commitments could not be trusted. He accused the U.S. of pursuing coercive and unilateral policies, claiming recent developments had exposed its “true face.” He also warned that if the United States escalated the conflict further, Iran and the Resistance Front would respond with what he called “unforgettable lessons,” while praising the actions of Iranian forces and residents of the country’s southern regions.

Emphasizing the importance of domestic cohesion, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said preserving national unity remains one of Iran’s highest priorities. He urged both officials and the public to avoid political divisions and social discord, stressing that criticism of government institutions should remain constructive and not undermine national solidarity. He added that maintaining public confidence in Iran’s executive, legislative and judicial institutions was essential to protecting the country’s interests and ensuring that its adversaries did not perceive any sign of weakness.
