Iran Claims US Breached MoU, Says Trust in Washington Has Collapsed

On Saturday a statement written by Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei in which he write that reapeated US breaches of Memorandum signed between Iran and the United States had made President Donald Trump’s signature “worthless and without any credibility.”

Following the breakdown of a ceasefire deal last week, US and Iran have resumed strikes against each other sparking concerns over a possible escalation into a wider war.

He said the United States must realize that Iran and its allies in the “resistance front” had given it “unforgettable lessons.”

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said earlier that Iran had suspended the execution of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the US.

Iranian media reported, Gharibabadi stated that the move came accusing Washington of repeatedly breaching its terms, failed to honor its commitments during negotiations, and adopted aggressive policies.

He said the US was once again experiencing the consequences of its actions and stressed that Iran’s primary concern now is the country’s defense.

He further stated that Tehran had participated in negotiations with a genuine commitment, but claimed that US actions had severely eroded mutual confidence.
