Iran Claims It Targeted US Aircraft at Jordan’s Aqaba Airport

Iran launched fresh retaliatory attacks after recent US strikes, claiming it targeted US aircraft at Jordan’s Aqaba Airport.

According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), it struck American aircraft at Aqaba Airport, shot down a US MQ-9 drone in Kermanshah, destroyed 20 US military storage facilities, and said two oil tankers were destroyed while passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian media reported that a new wave of missiles was launched from Lorestan province. It also claimed an enemy drone was shot down in southern Iran and missiles were fired at hostile ships near the UAE coast.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran cannot be threatened or pressured. He said Iran would not sell its enriched uranium under any circumstances and claimed attempts were made to persuade Iran into negotiations before the 12-day war.

He added that Iran’s policies and principles have not changed despite the conflict and said the country has emerged stronger. He also said the world now understands that the Strait of Hormuz is Iran’s main source of strength.

Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Bahrain’s capital, Manama, issued a security alert, warning that Iran could target locations in the city.
