Tayyip Erdogan Urges Trump to Continue Talks with Iran
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stressed the need to continue talks with Iran during a phone call with US President Donald Trump.
According to a statement from the Turkish Presidency, Erdogan and Trump discussed bilateral relations, the situation involving Iran, and the ongoing war in Gaza.
The two leaders also discussed the recent defence agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and its possible impact on regional security.
During the call, Erdogan said dialogue with Iran should continue to find a lasting solution to the ongoing crisis. He said Turkey is ready to play a constructive role and help bring the sides closer through diplomacy.
Erdogan also expressed concern over the situation in Gaza. He told Trump that Israeli attacks on Palestinians are continuing despite the peace plan and stressed that the violence against civilians must stop immediately.
