Araghchi Urges Political Dialogue Between Saudi Arabia and Yemen

Araghchi stressed that the crises confronting the region could not be resolved through military means. He cautioned that disregarding political solutions would worsen the situation and reaffirmed Tehran’s readiness to facilitate direct political dialogue between Riyadh and Sana’a. He said Iran was prepared to provide the necessary assistance to help both sides initiate negotiations aimed at achieving a lasting political settlement.

The diplomatic initiative comes amid the prolonged conflict in Yemen, which escalated in March 2015 with the Saudi-led military intervention backed by the United States and other Western countries. The war, accompanied by extensive restrictions on the movement of goods and people, has contributed to widespread civilian suffering and a severe humanitarian crisis. Araghchi’s remarks highlight Tehran’s call for political negotiations as a means of addressing the conflict and reducing regional tensions.
