Rezaei Rejects US Concessions as Inadequate, Insists on Iran’s Seven Conditions

12 October, 2026 06:44

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Major General Mohsen Rezaei, has dismissed partial US concessions on Tehran’s seven conditions for ending the ongoing war as inadequate. In a post on X, Rezaei acknowledged that Washington had accepted some of Iran’s demands but stressed that the response fell short of Tehran’s expectations. He declared that Iranian diplomacy had changed fundamentally and that there would be no return to the previous status quo.

In a separate post, Rezaei sharply criticized US President Donald Trump, accusing him of launching the war under the influence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He described the conflict as one of the most misguided wars in history and argued that Washington had failed to achieve its military objectives. Rezaei also claimed that the US fleet had failed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and accused Washington of resorting to covert methods to circumvent Iranian maritime controls.

Rezaei’s remarks underscore Tehran’s insistence on full compliance with its conditions rather than partial concessions as diplomatic efforts continue. The dispute comes against the backdrop of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which established a proposed framework for ending the US-Israeli war against Iran. Tehran’s position, as articulated by Rezaei, signals that any settlement will depend on meeting Iran’s demands, although the status of the negotiations and the extent of Washington’s commitments remain subject to further clarification.
