Information ministers discuss arrangements to disinfect press clubs across the country.

They will discuss current situation in the fourth meeting of the provincial Information Ministers.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan will chair the meeting.

In her tweets on Saturday, Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said tha meeting will take place on the special directions of the Prime Minister.

The session will take forward the process of distribution of protection kits amongst journalists and media workers.

She noted that these kits will prove to be important for the protection of the journalists dispensing their duties from difficult fronts fight against in the coronavirus.

She said the meeting will also discuss arrangements made to disinfect press clubs across the country.

They will also discuss a strategy of linking payment of outstanding amounts to media houses.

Moreover, they will review release of advertisements to them with that of the payment of salaries to the media workers.

Earlier, National Coordination Committee on Coronavirus has decided to extend prevailing partial lockdown in the country.

Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar said this, while briefing media persons in this regard.

He further said current partial lockdown in country extended till May 09.

He said the government is working on increasing number of testing laboratories and isolation wards to effectively contain the Coronavirus.

The meeting also decided no load-shedding during Sehar and Aftar in holy month of Ramazan.

Asad Umar said Pakistan Army is supporting the civil administration in its endeavors to combat the Coronavirus.

He terming the Ehsaas Cash Emergency Programme as historic.

The Planning Minister said the government has so far distributed Rs69 billion to 5700 families across the country.

He urged the citizens to adopt precautionary measures and maintain proper social distancing during Ramazan.
