President signs Finance Bill after National Assembly passed it.

Dr Arif Alvi on Monday signed the Finance Bill 2019-20 after the National Assembly passed it.

According to a President House’s press release, the president gave the approval under Article 75 of the Constitution.

Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz lauded PTI govt for the tax-free budget.

On Tuesday, he called the budget a manifestation of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s people-friendly policies.

He cited budget presented amnid global recession and national economic challenges.

In a tweet, Shibli Faraz said that the measures proposed in the budget would turn the wheel of the economy and open new avenues of employment.

The minister said that approval of the budget by a majority of 41 votes was a clear proof that the PTI and its allies were united under the leadership of Imran Khan.

He criticized the opposition, saying they made an unsuccessful effort to create frustration among the people.

Shibli Faraz accused the opposition of creating an atmosphere of uncertainty and also showed the hollowness of their political thinking.

On June 12, 2020, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar presented the budgetary proposals in the National Assembly.

He called it a tax-free and relief-oriented budget for the next fiscal year with a total outlay of 7294.9 billion rupees.

It may add that tax-free here means no new tax imposed; otherwise taxes remain in place as usual.
