Pakistan accuses India of hiding its illegal actions

During an interactive debate in Geneva-based, 47-member Council, Pakistan’s ambassador said India is using severe restrictions it imposed on communications in Occupied Kashmir as a policy tool to hide its illegal actions.

He said today Indian occupied Kashmir represents a classic case where self-professed largest democracy has defiantly violated longstanding principles of international law.

Notably, the Council was debating a report of UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.

Ambassador Hashmi backed Special Rapporteur’s call to political leaders and parties to condemn racist hate speech and hold all perpetrators accountable for incitement to hatred and acts of violence.

Meanwhile, the UN’s Special Rapporteur on Promotion and Protection of Rights to Freedom of Opinion, David Kaye has sent a letter to Indian government.

On the other hand, APHC expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman said this in a statement in Srinagar (Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir).

Furthermore, he condemned the continued cordon and search operations and arrest of Hurriyat leaders by Indian forces.
