Ehsaas Nashonuma program being launched in nine districts of the country on Thursday.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar made this announcement.

She said Ehsaas Nashonuma program aims at preventing stunting in children.

Dr Sania also posted this news on her official twitter handle today.

Earlier, she told a news conference in Islamabad that the World Food Programme is the implementing partner of Ehsaas for this programme.

She said the families eligible for Ehsaas cash programme will be entitled to benefit from Nashonuma programme.

She said the programme aims to provide special nutritious food to pregnant and breast feeding women .

The Special Assistant said children under the age of two years will also obtain money after every three months.

She said the programme allocates 1500 rupees for a boy and 2000 rupees for a girl to deserving families,while it also includes Rs500 as fare for travelling.

In July 2020, she had briefed Prime Minister about the ‘Ehsaas Nashonuma’ programme which the government would launch in near future.

According to the PM Office, the prime minister will formally launch the Ehsaas Nashonuma programme in next few weeks.

Furthermore, the prime minister directed Dr Sania Nishtar to expand the scope of Ehssas Emergency Cash Programme.
