President tells ambassador Mansoor Khan of importance of Af Pak relations.

 

Ambassador-designate for Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan called on President Dr. Arif Alvi today.

Dr Alvi said that Islamabad attaches special importance to its relations with Kabul and making sincere efforts to promote peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The President said peaceful and stable Afghanistan is not only in the interest of the two neighboring countries but of the entire region.

He further said Pakistan and Afghanistan share a common culture and religion.

Mr. Alvi emphasised the need for further expansion of relations between the two countries.

He urged the Ambassador-designate for Afghanistan to work for strengthening economic, political and public relations between the two neighboring countries.

Earlier, Ambassador-designate for Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan also called on the Foreign Minister Shah Memhood Qureshi.

The Foreign Minster said peace in Afghanistan is very crucial for stability in the entire region.

He hoped that nomination of Mansoor Ahmad Khan as ambassador will prove to be helpful in further strengthening the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, President Dr Arif Alvi said Pakistan has adopted a very liberal and investment friendly policy.

He urged foreign investors need to benefit from it.

He made these remarks while talking to Andrew Forrest-led delegation.

Forrest is Founder and Chairman of Fortescue Group who called on him in Islamabad on Monday.
