FMs of Pakistan and Uzbekistan discuss bilateral political consultations and other issues today.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his counterpart from the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held a telephonic conversation on Thursday.

Qureshi said that  Pakistan and Uzbekistan enjoy deep fraternal relations and leadership of both the countries is committed to further strengthen the bilateral relations.

During  the telephonic conversation, he also spoke on inaugural round of bilateral political consultations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

Shah Mahmood said it will soon be held in Islamabad.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue its reconciliatory efforts for establishment of peace in the region including Afghanistan.

Both the foreign ministers also agreed to increase the trade volume between the two countries.

Meanwhile, High Commissioner-designate of Bangladesh to Pakistan Ruhul Alam Siddique called on Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood in Islamabad today.

The Foreign Secretary  underlined the historic and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Furthermore, he underscored importance of close cooperative relations.

He extended his best wishes to the High Commissioner-designate in the important mission.

On the other hand, Pakistan has categorically rejected a false media report on FATF.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri clarified this, while responding to media queries regarding role of Saudi Arabia in assessment of Pakistan’s FATF Action Plan.

He rejected the story circulating in a segment of the media as false and baseless.
