UN General Assembly adopts Pakistan led resolution on interfaith dialogue.

Pakistan and Philippines had moved resolution on promotion of interreligious and intercultural dialogue.

The UN General Assembly (UNGA) adopted with majority votes that joint motion.

Munir Akram termed adoption of the resolution part of the efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The PM is calling for universal prohibition on willful provocation and incitement to raise awareness about Islamophobia, anti-Muslim hatred and defamation of religious personalities and symbols.

Moreover, the Ambassador emphasized our collective resolve to promote a culture of peace important.

He further said the resolution aims to bridge differences between religion, societies, cultures & civilizations by promoting a culture of peace dialogue and mutual respect.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi emphasized on promoting international diplomacy for reducing tension and resolution of conflicts.

He recommended this, while participating in a discussion, organized by a Turkish channel via video link on Wednesday.

He further said Kashmir is the oldest issue of South Asia, pending on UN Security Council’s agenda.

Qureshi said situation has further deteriorated in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
