President Dr Arif Alvi reiterates govt commitment to improve health facilities across the country.

He expressed confidence that the health systems generated during COVID-19 will go a long way to achieve health sustainable development goals.

He expressed these views, while addressing National Dissemination Webinar on Pakistan Maternal Mortality Survey.

The President spoke via video link on Thursday.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan remains very concerned regarding health facilities.

He further said that the PM Khan want availability of health facilities for everybody.

Dr Arif Alvi said as population size is increasing, we should be improving maternal health.

He also called for reducing maternal mortality and ensuring good nutrition not only for mother but also for children.

Moreover, he attached primary importance of health starting in every home to the health of the mother and child.

President Alvi also emphasized gap in pregnancies important for maternal health.

He stressed on communication about prevention, good habits at home, healthy life and nutrition for better health.

Moreover, he said Pakistan has a vast coverage of Lady Health Workers Program.

He called Lady Health Workers the primary source of information to prevent communicable diseases.
