Sri Lankan Commander calls on Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi today (Friday).

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Commander of Sri Lankan Army General L H S C Silva (WWV, RWP, RSP, VSV, USP), met the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

According to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutual interest came under discussion during the meeting,.

Both sides discussed regional security issues with particular reference to enhance military cooperation.

The visiting dignitary acknowledged Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region.

Especially he hailed Pakistan role in Afghan Peace Process.

Moreover, he pledged to further enhance bilateral relations between both countries.

Earlier, on arrival at GHQ, visiting dignitary laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada (the martyrs memorial).

A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented the Guard of Honour to visiting dignitary.

Meanwhile, Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain General Sheikh Mohamed Bin lsa Al-Khalifa also met Gen Bajwa.

He appreciated Pakistan’s positive role for regional peace and stability during the meeting with General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Meanwhile, both sides reiterated the desire to further enhance bilateral cooperation including efforts for peace and security in the region.
