Why did Aishwarya Rai reject Hollywood movie with Brad Pitt?

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who rose to international fame with Devdas, had turned down an offer for a lead role in the film “Troy” with Hollywood star Brad Pitt.

Those were the days when the fans of Bollywood queen were desperate to see her international level, but Aishwarya turned down the offer from Hollywood, preferring to work in India.

Brad Pitt’s film Troy released in 2004. Giving reason for rejecting the film, Aishwarya said that after Devdas won the hearts of the audience at the Cannes Film Festival, she received numerous offers from Hollywood. One of the main roles was in “Troy”, but there was a condition, the producers wanted her to block out 6 to 9 months in his calendar, for a relatively small role.

In an exclusive talk on the experience, Aishwarya expressed her surprise at the way Hollywood works. The actress said that they wanted her to block 6 to 9 months because it was a big film.

Despite the lure of a big Hollywood project, Aishwarya decided to fulfill her responsibilities in her country. The actress said that at that time she was busy shooting for many films in her industry which were more important to her than Hollywood, so she could not prepare herself to block time for 9 months.
