Harry Potter TV Series shares major lead stars announcement

After months of speculation, the three young actors set to lead the much-anticipated Harry Potter TV reboot have finally been announced.

Dominic McLaughlin will step into the role of Harry Potter, with Arabella Stanton cast as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout portraying Ron Weasley.

The trio, all 11 years old, were selected from over 32,000 audition tapes submitted from across the UK and Ireland. Filming is scheduled to begin this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The HBO adaptation, reportedly budgeted at £75 million per episode, will faithfully reimagine J.K. Rowling’s seven-book saga across seven seasons, aiming to introduce the beloved wizarding world to a new generation.

Executive producers Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod praised the young leads for their “remarkable” talent, commending casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann for their extensive search.

According to the outlet, the series will also feature several well-known actors, including John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.

Despite the excitement, the reboot has sparked controversy, with some fans voicing disappointment over the casting choices. The project has also seen distancing from the original film trio—Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint—amid continued public tension with J.K. Rowling, who remains involved as an executive producer.
