Iran Has the Right to Defend Itself, Will Take All Necessary Measures for its Security: Iranian envoy

In his address during the emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, the Iranian representative stated that the attack on Iran is a violation of international law, and he strongly condemned the aggression against his country.

He emphasized that Iran has the full right to defend its sovereignty, and any attacks will be responded to forcefully. The decision, nature, and timing of Iran’s response will be determined by its armed forces.

He further stated that all accusations made by the United States against Iran are false, incorrect, and politically motivated, and they hold no legal validity, adding that Qassem Soleimani will remain a hero to the Iranian people.

Iravani accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of being a war criminal who has successfully dragged the United States into war, saying that the US undermined diplomatic efforts for Netanyahu’s sake.

The Iranian envoy warned that US actions have endangered global peace, and that the attacks on Iran were an attempt to protect Netanyahu.

He said that Iran had repeatedly warned the United States about the dangerous consequences of aggression against Iran, but the US had instead endangered its own security.

He urged the international community and the Security Council to take effective and impartial action against this aggression; otherwise, the whole world will suffer the consequences. He added that the US has once again tarnished its political history.

He reaffirmed that under international law, Iran has the right to self-defense, and that it will take all necessary steps to ensure its protection and security.

Lastly, Amir Saeed Iravani stated that the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) has been turned into a political tool, and that the NPT has been politicized.
