Former Pakistan captain and legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi will lead the Pakistan Champions team in the upcoming World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, which will be held in England from July 18 to August 2, 2025.
The tournament will feature six teams—Pakistan, India, Australia, England, South Africa, and West Indies. Matches will be played in a round-robin format at four famous venues: Edgbaston (Birmingham), County Ground (Northampton), Grace Road (Leicester), and Headingley (Leeds). The top four teams will move to the semi-finals.
In a big boost to the Pakistan side, Sarfaraz Ahmed, who captained Pakistan to the 2017 Champions Trophy win, has joined the squad. His wicket-keeping and leadership will be a valuable addition.
The team also includes experienced players like Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez, both known for their all-round performances in T20 cricket. Sharjeel Khan and Kamran Akmal will strengthen the top order, while Asif Ali adds power to the middle and lower order with his hitting ability.
