Pakistan Believes in Dialogue and Diplomacy, Seeks Good Relations with Neighbors: PM
Tianjin: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated that Pakistan seeks stable and normal relations with all neighboring countries, emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy over conflict and tension.
Speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in the Chinese port city of Tianjin, the prime minister said Pakistan has always upheld multilateralism, negotiations, and diplomacy, while avoiding unilateral approaches. He noted that the recent disturbing developments in the region over the past few months have brought deep sorrow and disappointment.
Sharif stressed that Pakistan supports and respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its neighbors as well as all SCO member states. He added that Pakistan honors all international and bilateral agreements and expects SCO members to adhere to the same principles.
Highlighting the importance of water resources, the prime minister underlined that, under existing agreements, unobstructed access to a fair and equitable share of water would ease the SCO’s work and contribute to achieving the broader goals for which the organization was founded.
