PM Shehbaz Sharif Meets Chinese PM in Beijing, Discusses Bilateral Matters

Beijing: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss regional developments and bilateral matters.

During the meeting, held at the Great Hall of the People, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated President Xi Jinping on the successful hosting of the SCO Summit and also extended his congratulations on the 80th anniversary of the war.

The Prime Minister stated that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has achieved remarkable progress. He added that Pakistan takes great pride in China’s achievements and expressed readiness to work together with China on this great journey.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated China’s unwavering support for regional integrity, sovereignty, and development. He further expressed the desire to continue joint efforts on the upgraded next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The Prime Minister highlighted that the CPEC project holds vital importance in President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative. He noted that in the upgraded next phase of CPEC, five additional corridors have been included.
