PM Shehbaz Meets Putin in Beijing, Vows to Boost Ties

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing on the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum.

The meeting began with a warm handshake and friendly exchange between the two leaders. Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and other senior ministers were also present during the meeting.

President Putin expressed Russia’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Pakistan. He said Russia values its ties with Pakistan and is ready to deepen cooperation in various areas. He also conveyed his sympathy over the recent floods and natural disasters in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked President Putin for his kind words and support. He said Pakistan is eager to improve relations with Russia in sectors such as trade, agriculture, energy, and transport. Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated Putin’s personal interest in building stronger ties between the two countries and said it has helped guide the relationship in the right direction.

He added that Pakistan and Russia are working together to take their partnership to new heights and expressed his willingness to visit Russia in the near future.

Both leaders agreed that Pakistan-Russia relations are steadily improving and looked forward to further collaboration across multiple fields.
