Xi, Putin, Kim Join Beijing Parade in Show of Anti-West Unity
BRUSSELS – European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has warned that the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping at a major military parade in Beijing signals a direct challenge to the Western-led international order.
The parade, held to mark 80 years since the end of World War II, featured Xi flanked by Putin and Kim on a red carpet in Tiananmen Square. In rare scenes, Xi warmly greeted both leaders, highlighting deepening ties between their countries.
Kallas told reporters, “This is not just symbolic. Russia’s war in Ukraine is being sustained by Chinese support. These are deliberate attempts to reshape the global order.”
US President Donald Trump also reacted strongly, accusing China, Russia, and North Korea of conspiring against America. In a Truth Social post, he wrote: “Give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against the United States of America.”
Kallas warned that Europe must act with greater geopolitical strength, stating: “A new global order is in the making. It will be shaped by what Europe is willing to do.”
The event in Beijing underscored growing alignment between China, Russia, and North Korea, with their leaders presenting a united front against Western influence.
