MPA Saqib Khan Faces Backlash as Perfume Video Goes Viral Amid Punjab Floods

Punjab continues to grapple with devastating floods and heavy rains, leaving residents in affected areas desperate for essential aid and relief. In the middle of this crisis, a video of PML-N MPA Muhammad Saqib Khan Chadhar has surfaced online, showing him applying perfume before visiting flood victims. The clip has gone viral on social media, where users have strongly criticized the act, with many labeling it “shameful.”

The video has sparked a nationwide debate on whether elected officials should focus on appearances during such emergencies or take concrete measures to support the victims. As many users put it, “the victims do not need perfume but food, medicine, and safe shelters.”

Muhammad Saqib Khan Chadhar was elected as an independent candidate from PP-97 (Chiniot-4) in the 2024 general elections, securing 42,959 votes. On February 11, 2024, he joined the Pakistan Muslim League (N) along with other independents after meeting Shahbaz Sharif.

Political and social circles remain divided over the issue. While public outrage grows, some supporters claim the video is being misrepresented. Still, the incident has become a central topic of discussion across the country, with the MPA facing mounting criticism over his actions.
