American Magazine Calls US Policy of Relying on India Instead of Pakistan ‘Failure’

The American magazine “Foreign Affairs” has declared the U.S. policy of relying on India instead of Pakistan as a failure.

According to the magazine, India has never been a reliable partner for the U.S. India did not meet America’s expectations; Pakistan is a more trustworthy partner. Now the U.S. will have to trust Pakistan.

Foreign Affairs magazine added that President Trump praised Pakistan’s actions against terrorism and its efforts to reduce tensions with India.

The magazine called the Trade and energy agreements between the U.S. and Pakistan beneficial for both. U.S. investment in Pakistani resources, including the Reko Diq project, can stabilize the region, stated Foreign Affairs magazine.

Foreign Affairs magazine claimed that the one-sided focus on India will increase divisions and the risk of war in the region.

It stated that Pakistan’s national security policy emphasizes balanced relations with both the U.S. and China.

The magazine further added that Pakistan has previously acted as a bridge bringing the U.S. and China closer. It wrote that the U.S. policy focused on India will distance Pakistan and weaken Washington’s position in the region.”
