The Sindh government has announced that all public and private schools and colleges will remain closed on March 11 to observe Youm-e-Ali, which marks the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA) on the 21st of Ramadan.
According to officials, the provincial government issued a notification following the recommendations of the Sindh sub-committee of the steering committee on education.
Youm-e-Ali is observed every year with religious gatherings and processions across the country to remember the life and sacrifices of Hazrat Ali (RA).
Meanwhile, the federal education department has also announced spring holidays for schools and colleges in Islamabad from March 24 to March 27, 2026.
These spring holidays have been combined with the Eid holidays, which are expected to be observed from March 20 to March 23. This will give students a longer break.
Authorities said that all schools and colleges will reopen and educational activities will start again on March 30, after the holiday period ends.
