Bryon Noem, husband of former Department of Homeland Security staffer Kristi Noem, is catching heat from locals after stories broke about his supposed secret online habits.
It all blew up when the Daily Mail ran pieces saying he’d been hanging out in fetish forums, basically leading a double life. Photos floating around online show him in some wild getups, and that’s got people talking big time.
Folks who know him started chiming in as the buzz grew. One of his insurance clients, Nancy Turbak, felt bad for him, saying, “I am sorry that Bryon is now the subject of so much attention himself, and for any embarrassment he’s experiencing. I know him to be a kind and decent man. I wish he were not going through this.”
She painted him as a solid guy behind Kristi, keeping a low profile while she chased the spotlight. “It appears he has consistently been supportive of her, tolerating whatever it was she was doing, and yet, she would bring him there for her own benefit and then subject him to that humiliation,” she added.
Rancher Kevin Ruesnik, who grew up with Bryon, said he’d never seen this side of him and was totally caught off guard. A real estate appraiser who knows the family called him a dedicated dad and husband, always holding things together as Kristi’s fame ramped up.
The appraiser put it bluntly on the bigger picture: “It shows the price of power and fame is very high. But, Kristi invited this type of coverage by her actions at the Department of Homeland Security.”
At the heart of it, reports say Bryon was active in online spots using a fake name, chatting in weird “bimbofication” groups. He supposedly swapped messages and even wired cash to some people there.
Still, people close to him are sticking up for his character, seeing him as a private family man stuck in the glare now.
