Field Marshal Asim Munir arrives in Tehran for martyred Ayatollah Khamenei’s funeral

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has arrived in Tehran to attend the funeral of Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Upon his arrival, he was received by Iran’s Interior Minister and other senior officials. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was also present at the airport.

According to Iranian media, people are paying their last respects to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at the Imam Khomeini Hussainiya Centre in Tehran. Delegations from different countries are visiting the venue to offer condolences and tribute.

The coffins of several members of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s family have also been placed alongside his coffin.

It is reported that in the February 28 attack, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s wife, his son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and his two-year-old granddaughter were also killed. Their coffins are present at the funeral ceremony along with his.
